At FortisBC, I supported pipeline integrity work through engineering assessments, data analysis, and automation. I prepared approximately 150 integrity assessments and 55 blasting reviews for engineering approval. To streamline a large historical data review, I developed a Python script that processed more than 11,000 Excel files in under a week, alongside Excel VBA tools for data validation. This experience strengthened my ability to turn complex information into reliable outputs that support engineering decisions.
At PCL, I supported quality assurance and quality control on the New St. Paul’s Hospital project through field inspections, drawing reviews, and document coordination. Using tools including BIM 360 and Bluebeam, I helped compare site conditions with design information, document findings, and communicate issues to the appropriate teams. Working alongside field coordinators and other project personnel strengthened my attention to detail and showed me how clear documentation and collaboration contribute to quality on a major construction project.
For my General Fusion-sponsored capstone, I led major portions of the SolidWorks and electrical design for an automated Mirnov coil winder. The project brings mechanical motion, electronics, and control together to wind fine wire for precision coils. My work involved translating requirements into design decisions, developing assemblies, and coordinating mechanical and electrical integration with the team. This collaboration has helped me connect classroom knowledge with the practical challenges of developing equipment for an industry partner.
